Good day cattle producers, This is Blaine Huston reporting from the Gladstone Auction mart for Tuesday October 7th. It was another hot sale. We sold 1032 head of cattle through the ring in Gladstone Manitoba yesterday! We didn’t have any butcher cattle at this sale. Butcher cattle will sell on Friday October 10th.

Here are some market highlights from yesterday’s sale:
- 12 718 pound red exotic steer calves bring $584 a pound ($4193 a head)
- 16 black steer calves come in the ring weighing 636 pounds and cash in at $6.2959a pound ($4003 per head)
- 442 pound black exotic steer calves stamp there ticket at $8.1250a pound ($3591 a head)
On the Hiefer side of things:
- 7 black heifer calves weighing 609 pounds bring $6.01 per pound ($3660 per head)
- 11 black and red heifers weigh 511 pounds and fetch $6.70 per pound ($3424 per head)
- 6 red and black hiefer calves weighing 446 pounds bring $713 pound ($3180 a head)
Plainer type cattle are still seeing some discounts.
As you can see the market was powerful yesterday in Gladstone.
